1 John 4:18 would not leave me alone after I was informed about the riots in Haiti yesterday, so I went home after class and read all of chapter 4 before I went to bed. I'm not in Seminary so I don't know if 1 John 4 was the theologically correct passage to read but I found it calmed my fears, both of going and the possibility of not going, and provided me a sense of reassurance either way. I prayed for Haiti, the Haitian people, and those making the decision about the trip, and let go. For me that's always the hardest part, letting go and letting God, but He's always giving me plenty of opportunities to practice. : )
