Andy,
Hey great thoughts on doubt. I did a lot of thinking on doubt when I returned from Ethiopia in 2007. My faith didn't even compare to that of the Junior Kids there in Ethiopia who would get together and pray for 2 hours a day and start singing praise songs over finding fire wood. Kind of made me check myself. I started reading Case for Faith by Lee Strobel. One thing he did is use doubt as a refining fire. So I started processing that and this is where my brain ran. If doubt is a refining fire for say gold. If kept under control and taken care of properly it produces an amazing product that is not only valuable monetary wise but also to many people in memories and others. On the other hand though if doubt/fire is not kept in check it could be very dangerous. If I were to say let it eat at me and not research/look into/read about what I am thinking than it could really tear me apart. Kind of like this fire could burn and harm if not kept under control.
Just some thoughts that went through my head.
